Emanuel Ungaro was born in Aix-en-Provence and from a very young age he learned to sew like his father Cosimo. When he was 22 he went to Paris where he started designing for the house Balenciaga, after a few years he started working with André Coureges. In 1965 Ungaro started his own fashion house in Paris and in 1968 he created his first collection of pret-a-porter, Parallèle. It wasn't until 1983 that the designer released his first perfume, Diva, which was the first of a line of fragrances.
