Josephine Esther Mentzer from New York has been interested in the world of cosmetics from an early age. Her uncle, the chemist John Schotz, was the one who taught her to make the products for skin care, which she sold to beauty salons. In 1946 she started the Estée Lauder brand. In 1995 the company came on the stock exchange and bought many famous brands such as: Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Darphin, La Mer and many more.
