Yves Saint Laurent perfume. Yves Henri Donat Dave Mathieu Saint Laurent sent some designs to the Wool Secretariat competition in 1950. Even though he didn't win, Michel Brunhoff (editor-in-chief of Vogue) was deeply impressed by his designs and advised him to go to Paris to study at Couture's school. The following year he presented himself again at the competition and this time he won. Brunhoff again noticed his designs and told him to work at the Dior house, where he became director after Christian Dior's death. In 1960 he founded his own brand with the presentation of his first collection “Ligne Trapéze”. It was a designer of both Prêt-à-Porter and Haute Couture and he was the one who marketed the tuxedo for women. In 1977 his first perfume Opium was launched, which became the best-selling fragrance of the time.
